.Donald Paul Galt, 91, of Jonesboro, GA died November 27, 2016 of natural causes at his home in Jonesboro, GA.
Born April 6th 1925 in Allentown, PA
He attended grammar school in Boulder, CO, and in 1943 graduated from Putman County High School, Palatka, FL. In 1946 after WWII he came to Atlanta, GA where he attended Georgia Tech.
Don Galt son of Ralph & Marie Galt is preceded in death by his wife - Gippie Ollis Galt, daughter - Stephanie McVey, son-in-law's - William McVey, Ernie Hudson and sister - Joan Green.

Don Galt son of Ralph & Marie Galt is preceded in death by his wife - Gippie Ollis Galt, daughter - Stephanie McVey, son-in-law's - William McVey, Ernie Hudson and sister - Joan Green.
He is survived by his children: Richard (son) & Anita Alred, Jennifer Hudson (daughter), Scott (son) & Kari Galt. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Paul McVey, Stephen McVey, Christy Hudson Lawrence, Preston Hudson, Stachia Galt Clancy, Quentin Galt and nine great grandchildren.
Don served as a proud Coast Guardsman in the WWII Victory: European Theatre; Invasions of: Sicily, Salerno, Normandy and Southern France.
He was a devout follower of Jesus Christ serving in many churches with various teaching duties. He also devoted time to missionary work in the Philippines, making numerous trips there.
He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the John L Underwood Co, Atlanta, GA 54 years.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Tara Garden Chapel.
Funeral service will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1:30pm at Tara Garden Chapel.
Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Jonesboro, Georgia.
